Winner: TeamBOT

Team Bot

TeamBot convinced the jury with an innovative business idea for virtual markets. Alan Ross and Paola Capocasa, two budding entrepreneurs, created pseudo artificial-intelligent "bots" to assist Second Life users with various needs. The first product to be introduced on the platform will be FinderBot. The first in-store search assistant in Second Life will provide automated 24x7 customer service. TeamBot's B2B model targets mainly business owners.

Second place: Skyroc

Team Skyroc

Second-placed skyroc team has created the first dating travel agency within Second Life – offering matchmaking and travel services. Six different tours have been designed. Kin Kei Wong, Yiu M. G. Lin, and Wing Shuen Lau aim to build a community that helps its members make friends and find the right partner. They target residents who are looking for romance, and newbies who are not yet familiar with Second Life. Future plans are to bring users from real life to Second Life by closely linking the dating travel agency to other social networks and matchmaking services on the Internet.

Third place: i-Robot

Team i-Robot

The i-Robot team, placed third, created well-designed robots that will be available for rent in Second Life. The robots will be able to roam through Second Life, interacting with other avatars, advertising, and collecting information. Keanu Zhang, a young professional, and Ziqi Zhao, a business student – both from China – also plan to develop a robot that will allow Second Life users to continue their virtual life even when they are offline.
