The Virtual Venture Competition

In the Virtual Venture Competition, participants were able to explore the economical possibilities and the growth potential of Second Life and virtual worlds in general. They had to respond to ongoing developments and made a unique contribution to an innovative web 2.0 community.

 

Our participants had the chance to meet a diverse and creative pool of talented young people from around the planet. They worked together in international teams and learned key concepts and strategies for starting a business.

 

 

Second Life

Second Life is a virtual world focusing on communication and commerce between its residents. It is by far the biggest of many emerging virtual 3D platforms. It has been covered extensively in the press and is a pioneer for an emerging future with more sophisticated and enhanced virtual worlds with endless opportunities.

 

But even today, Second Life is well suited for virtual business models since in-game transactions between users are allowed and fostered by Second Life’s official currency “Linden Dollars” which are convertible to real money.
