The Virtual Venture Competition

was the first truly global business-building contest ever held in the virtual world! Teams from more than 70 countries turned innovative ideas into successful business operations in Second Life.

For the first time, business plans were not assessed by a jury, but proven by real customers, made real turnover, and were even presented to a real audience within the virtual world!

Out of more than 2000 participants and 250 teams starting, 12 teams were invited to present their growing businesses at the Analyst Conference in October 2007. The best six teams made it to the real world final which was held in November 2007 at the Alpine University in Kitzbühel, Austria.
